Below is more information on Evaluation Day:  

• When: SATURDAY, January 20th
• Location: Marin Catholic Baseball Field (675 Sir Francis Drake Blvd.). Registration at back gate near Bay Club.  After dropping off, please check your player in at the registration table and have a seat away from the field.  No parents on the field during evaluations.
• Participating divisions: Minors (AA & AAA) and Majors. Note that Tee, Farm, Rookie, 50-70, and Juniors do not attend evaluations. 
• Time: The skills assessment times are noted below.  If you have a conflict please contact us and we will include your child within another group.

Please know that each player is guaranteed to play on a team.  The evaluation is important as it helps us ensure each player is placed in the correct division.  RVLL Managers and Commissioners will be conducting the evaluations for proper divisional alignment and drafting balanced teams. 

• Evaluations consist of:
  • 3 ground balls
  • 2 pop flys
  • 3 pitches from the mound
  • 3 swings at the plate
• Please bring:
  • Baseball equipment- hat, glove, rubber cleats/turf shoes, and a water bottle.  Please bring your own equipment if possible, we will have helmets and bats for those that need them.  
  • Each player will be given a number that they must wear for evaluations.  

 

Please remind your players, that while evaluations may be stressful for some, we’re all playing this game because it’s FUN.  There are no cuts in Little League.  There are many aspects to the game that coaches look for other than the end results.  Remind them it’s Little League baseball where great effort and a positive attitude can take them far.  

Finally, Majors and Minors drafts will take place in the weeks after Evaluation Day.  You should be contacted by your child’s coach in early February.
