PITCH, HIT & THROW 2011!

Sunday, May 1st – Bacich Elementary
10am – 4pm

PHT Description
PHT Form 1
PHT Form 2

Ross Valley Little League Managers should have provided each player with information about our League’s annual fundraiser, Pitch, Hit & Throw to be held May 1st at Bacich Elementary.

In addition to the fundraiser, fun can be had for the entire family as there will be a rock climbing wall, giant slide, dunk tank, jumpys and much more. Free and open all day exclusively for RVLL families. Your children can play on these either before or after their participation in the fundraiser challenge, as we are hoping to have a full day of fun for all. The Snack Shack will also be open so come on out and support our Little League with this important fundraiser.

The Pitch-Hit-Throw Fundraiser

This day will be important to the League for a number of reasons. It allows us to keep our players equipped with the best possible uniforms and safest equipment. It will also allow us to add coach and player training, which keeps our players safe and improves the overall performance and competitiveness of our League. This year, we are marking funds for the installation of astro-turf in the pitching and batting cages which will allow for extended use. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Gunnar Sandberg Medical Fund. Gunnar is a former RVLL athlete, umpire and volunteer.

We hope every family and player can get behind this important fundraiser and reach out to family, friends and neighbors in the community for sponsorship in the Pitch, Hit & Throw challenge. Our goal is 100% player participation this year and at least nine pledges/sponsors for a &complete game.&

How it works:

For each challenge, players will gain points, which will then be multiplied by the per point pledges to get to a final dollar amount. The player competes only against himself/herself – so it’s based on each player’s personal best!

Pitch – Each player throws 3 pitches that are measured using a radar speed gun. The player earns one point per MPH for his/her fastest pitch thrown.

Hit – Each player hits three baseballs off a tee from home plate. Distance is measured in yards from home plate to the final resting place of the ball. The player earns one point per yard for his/her longest hit.

Throw – Each player throws three baseballs from home plate. Distance is measured in yards from home plate to where the ball lands on the fly. The player earns one point per yard for his/her longest throw.

"Per Point" Pledge Calculation Example:

  • Assume donor pledge is $0.30 per point.
  • Player’s fastest pitch is 40 mph, longest hit is 74 feet (25 yards), and longest throw is 120 feet (40 yards).
  • Total points = 40 + 25 + 40 = 105
  • Total dollar pledge = $0.30 x 105 = $31.50

  • Alternatively, if the math is too complicated for your child to explain, sponsors can simply donate a fixed amount such as $25.00, regardless of the challenge outcome.

    An added bonus?

Prizes will be awarded to players who raise the most funds, including four on-field pre-game passes to a Giants game where you can meet the players and coaches, along with other autographed memorabilia!
